Ferry Koh Chang Ticket Prices
Ferry Koh Chang boats take approximately 25-30 minutes to cross between the mainland pier at Ao Thammachat and Ao Sapporot pier, Koh Chang. There is one larger ferry which takes closer to 40 minutes.
Crossing time also depends on the weather. But unless there is a severe storm, which is rare, delays are minimal. This is because the ferry runs to the eastern side of the island, which is sheltered from the worst of the monsoon weather.
It is not possible to buy ferry tickets in advance. Ignore any websites telling you that it is.
The only place to buy tickets is at the ticket office at the ticket offices at Ao Thammachat (mainland) and Ao Sapporot (Koh Chang) piers.
Payment is cash only.
Card and QR code payments are not accepted.
No return tickets are sold. Only one way, valid for the day of travel. Ticket prices were increased in April 2026 due to increasing fuel and operational costs. Prior to this they had been at the same level for 10 years.
Tickets are now based on the price of diesel fuel and so may vary if prices change significantly.

Delays During Busy Periods
Visitors travelling by car to the island are used to experiencing delays of 1-2 hours at peak periods during high season.
However, in May 2026 there were extreme conditions. Due to a surge in visitors queues of cars stretched for several kilometres with some reports estimating lines of up to 7-8 km and waiting times of four to six hours just to board a ferry. Even though the ferry operator increased frequency and capacity, demand still exceeded what the system could handle, leading to significant delays for drivers heading to the island.
For visitors planning to drive to Koh Chang, the key takeaway is that travel times can increase dramatically at peak periods, far beyond the usual 30–45 minute crossing.
Queues build quickly from mid-morning onwards, and ferries, while running more frequently, generally operate on a “leave when full” basis rather than a strict timetable. Low tides also exacerbate delays, especially during major Thai holidays such as Songkran, New Year, and long weekends.
Delays of several hours are now common, so it’s strongly recommended to arrive very early (before 08:00), travel outside peak dates, or consider leaving your car on the mainland to avoid spending a large part of your journey waiting in line.

The first ferry can be busy. So if you are driving or in a vehicle and want to be 100% sure of getting on it you should be at the pier before 06:00. But it’s not important to be on the first one if you’re heading to Trat Airport. You’ll be at the airport in plenty of time for PG302 if you take the second ferry.

There will be a songtaew waiting for passengers going to Trat Airport. 200 Baht per person. Although if you are here at a quiet time of year the driver might wait for another ferry to arrive before leaving.

The ferries will run as scheduled unless the winds and waves are too high. This was the case yesterday. Ferries were postponed for a couple of hours until the weather improved.

Ferries will operate as normal – unless the winds are too strong. In which case services will stop for a short time until the conditions improve. But it is very rare that the sea is so rough that they have to stop operating for more than a couple of hours.

Ferries are running as normal. The fighting had no effect on ferry services or any transport links from Bangkok to this part of Thailand – boat, plane, bus, private transfers etc.

The last ferry is at 18:30.
If the bus driver knows you are going to Koh Chang he will drop you off on the main road at a pick up truck taxi stop in Saen Tung about 20km before Trat. It’s about 25 mins drive to the pier from there.
So you should be able to catch the last ferry.

You will be able to get a pick up truck taxi from the bus station to the pier. But if it’s not busy you’ll have to pay to go privately.

Hi I took a blue songtiao 1661 from Trat city center (waiting area outside ร้านขายยาฮกแซตึ๊ง ตราด pharmacy on the main road) on Monday 15 Dec 25. Unfortunately the border conflict escalated last few days so very few tourists came to Trat. Reached the waiting area ard 7am. Driver quoted me 300b for immediate departure but I told him I can wait. Waited til ard 8am, another passenger came and we left with 200b per pax. Journey took 35 minutes.

This ferry the timetables never right its like lottery mostly they leave when they full But sometimes leave 5-15min earlier than should and not full like today again 19years here and cant wait to have the bridge this ferry belongs to 1800’s

There used to be a bus at 14:00. But that stopped operating. You’ll need to take a taxi or arrange a private transfer in advance to get here the day.

The timetable is the same. But during high season boats run about every 20 to 30 minutes.
The only fixed times for boats are the first boat at 06:30 and the last boat at 18:30.

No updates. Nothing has been announced. It’s unlikely there will be very bad weather. If there is the ferries might stop running for an hour or two until it passes.

The easiest way is to buy a ticket for a shared minibus from your hotel on Koh Chang to the airport. Ferries won’t be running to a fixed timetable so if you are at the pier by 07:15 – 07:30 you will be able to get to the airport before 08:45. There are shared pick up truck taxis at the mainland pier that go to Trat Airport.

Ferries usually run according to the timetable in low season. But maybe more frequent depending on how busy it is. And also sometimes less frequent if tides are very low.

No problem to bring your cat on the ferry. Boat tickets can’t be booked online or bought in advance. You can only buy them, with cash, at the ticket office at the pier.

You won’t have any problem getting to Koh Chang the same evening. The easiest way is to take a shared minibus from Trat Airport to your hotel on Koh Chang. Tickets can be bought when you land in Trat, 900 Baht / person. But it’s much cheaper to book online in advance at https://12go.com/.
Or you can take a shared pick up truck taxi to the ferry pier. You will see drivers with signs at the airport. The price is 280 Baht per person which includes the ferry ticket. When you get to Koh Chang you can take another pick up truck taxi to your hotel. This will be 50 – 200 Baht / person depending on where you are staying.

See the timetable on this page. Officially every hour at 45 minutes past the hour. In reality usually more frequently. Every 20 to 30 minutes depending on how busy it is.

It’s not possible to book tickets for ferries from the mainland to Koh Chang online. You can only buy tickets at the pier.
The ferries don’t always run to the timetable, but they operate from 06:30 – 18:30 every day.

Hi, we are leaving Koh Chang on the 4th January 2026. We have the option of catching a flight to Bangkok at 9.40am or 2.15pm. I have been advised that there will be long waiting times on this day (by the transfer company) because it is the last day of Thai holidays. Would it be advisable to get the earlier flight? Yes, ferries will be very busy. So I would take the early flight and avoid a very long queue at the ferry pier. Most people will leave mid to late morning.

It’s not possible to buy tickets or reserve spaces on a ferry in advance. Everyone has to buy a ticket when they arrive at the pier and there is one queue.

You wont find any reports online of passengers on PG307 not being able to get to Koh Chang the evening they land. This is because normally it isn’t a problem. But on rare occasions when the plane is delayed either the last ferry will wait for passengers coming from Trat Airport or Bangkok Airways will arrange a special ferry so that everyone can get to Koh Chang without having to stay the night on the mainland.
If you want to arrange transport when you land you can buy tickets for a shared minibus or arrange a private transfer with the transport company based at the airport. They have a booth next to Baggage Claim. Or take a shared pick up truck taxi.

Is it possible to take the ferry with a Truck? 3,80 m high and 8,50 m lengh?
Not a problem to get to Koh Chang. But note that not all ferries take large trucks so you might have to wait longer than you would if you were in a car.
Our flight to trat from Bangkok has been delayed from 4:15pm to 5:00pm so we are worried we will miss the 6:30pm ferry. Do you the minibuses and ferries wait of this happens? Worried we are going to miss last ferry at 6:30pm. Or have a recommendation of a small boat that we might be able to hire to bring us to Koh Chang tonight?

The last ferry is at 18:30. It is only 15 minutes drive from the airport to the ferry pier. If the flight is delayed the ferry will wait for passengers coming from Trat Airport. If there is a very long delay Bangkok Airways organise a special ferry for passengers.

The problem is, the possible departures at Trat airport (12Go) are 12.40 and 13:10 and 17:15 h.
Our flight (Bangkok Airways) arrives at 12:40 h, so the departue 13:10h would be risky. Are there minibusses driving later than 13:10h to the pier, in case we would miss the departure time (13:10h)? 17:15h would be too late for us.

The minibuses run according to the flight schedule. They are only for Bangkok Airways passengers, so wont leave unless the plane has landed and passengers are in the minibus. The different times are because one minibus company is using the time the plane lands, the other is adding on 30 Minutes for people to get their bags etc. In reality they both leave at the same time. It doesnt matter which one you book.
The 17:15 minibus is for passengers on the next flight, PG307.

It’s a minimum of 4 hours from the airport to the mainland pier. So if you leave the airport before around 14:00 – 14:30 you should be able to get to Koh Chang the same evening. Assuming no unexpected delays.

The last boat is at 18:30. Before covid the boat services ran later. But for the past 3 years, the boat stops at 18:30 unless it a a very busy holiday period when there are a lot of people waiting to get to the island- for example at New Year.

We aerobe in Bangkok at 13:15 and will drive from Bangkok around two, it takes around 4 h 12 minutes to Trat. Is it impossible to Get to Koh Chang after that is we miss the boat?
The last ferry is at 18:30. You should be able to catch it if you leave the airport at 14:00.
If you miss it you can stay the night at a hotel in Trat and come to Koh Chang the next morning.

Is there a garded carport at the Pier Ao Tammachart where we can safely park our car during our stay at Koh Chang? If yes, how much per day and can you make a reservation?
There is a small covered parking area. It is located opposite the ticket office. But can’t be reserved and is rarely used. As people won’t see the point of driving all the way here and then not taking their car to the island. Seeing the island is much easier if you have your own vehicle to use.
Are there songtheaws or taxis at Ao Tharammachat pier on the mainland that will take us to Trat airport mid afternoon?
No taxis but you will see orange songtaews parked behind the restaurant / toilet area which can take you to Trat Airport. It is usually about 200 – 250 Baht / person

All boats are vehicle ferries. Tickets can’t be bought in advance. When you arrive at the pier buy tickets and then you join the queue for the ferry. If a boat arrives and fills up before you can get on it then you have to wait for the next one.
We are 5 people in one Car.
Do we need to pay 1x 120 baht for the car.
Or we need to pay 5x 80 baht for every person in the car ?
For a car with 5 passengers you need to pay 120 Baht + (5 x 80 Baht) = 520 Baht.

You can park at Ao Thammachat pier on the mainland. There’s a tour agency opposite ticket office which has a secure parking area. You can buy boat tickets at the pier when you arrive.
You don’t have to decide what to do until you get to the pier. If there are long queues, then you can leave the car there.
On 31, there won’t be many people leaving the island so if you are driving you won’t have to wait long for a boat.
(Don’t go to Laem Sok pier, it is only used for boats to Koh Kood)

Yes. But you’d need to arrange it in advance either with your hotel or whoever is bringing you from Bangkok.
There are locals with a wooden boat who would take you to Koh Chang. That’s about 2,500 Baht.
Then you’d need someone to meet you at the pier and take you to your hotel. Probably another 800 – 1,000 Baht ( as there won’t be any shared pick up truck taxis at the pier)

When you land in Trat you can buy tickets for a shared minibus that will drop you off at your hotel on Koh Chang. The minibus ticket includes the ferry.

Ferries always run. But at extremely low tides not all boats can operate. However, that only happens a few times a year during low season. There aren’t any extremely low tides in February.

The schedule stays the same year round. It might change but unlikely. It’s a minimum of 3 and a half hours from Utapao to the mainland pier. So there’s only a small chance of getting to the pier on time. Your plane would have to arrive early and the driver would have to go faster than normal to try to get to the pier.

The plane lands at 5.15pm, not 7.15pm. So you’ll have no problem getting the 18:30 boat. Ferry tickets can’t be booked in advance. Buy them at the pier. Or just buy tickets for the shared minibus service to your hotel on Koh Chang when you land in Trat.

Tickets can’t be booked in advance. But if you’re a foot passenger that isn’t an issue, as you’ll always get on the next boat that is leaving.

No one knows at the moment. It was the same situation last November. After a week or two Bangkok Airways changed the time of PG307 to 17:15, which it is at the moment.
A couple of locals have boats and take people to the island. I think they charge around 4,000 Baht for the boat. Then on Koh Chang it would be another 500 – 800 Baht for a private taxi to your hotel.

The boats to Koh Chang leave from piers near Laem Ngop. Don’t go to Laem Sok, that is about 40km away and is the pier for boats to Koh Kood.
Boats are timetabled for every hour. But are usually more frequent. There’s no way to know in advance exactly what time a boat might leave. But the last boat is at about 18:30.

You can take your bicycle on either ferry free of charge. It is easiest to use Ferry Koh Chang from Ao Thammachat pier as they have more frequent departures and a faster crossing time. Just buy a boat ticket when you arrive at the pier and you’ll be on the next boat that will depart.

The last ferry is at 18:30. Bit you’ll have no problem catching it. From Trat Airport you can take a shared pick up truck taxi to the pier or buy tickets for the minibus that will drop you off at your hotel on the island.

We arrive on Friday 14th Late from River Kwai. Due to Songkran we are not sure if we arrive late as 6.30 pm if we will find a place for our car on the ferry. Will there be extra ferries provided after 6.30 pm if there are enough cars/ passengers left?
If it’s very busy and a lot of people are waiting then ferries will be running later than 18:30. But this won’t be announced in advance. Ideally leave Kanchanaburi as early as possible.

The best pier is Ao Thammachat pier. The official timetable is on this page. However during busy periods the boats run more frequently (every 20-30 minutes) and not according to the timetable.

Bangkok Airways will probably change the flight time back to arriving at 17:15, which has been the case for the past 4 months and is the same for all flights until the end of October.
Until November last year PG307 always arrived at 17:55, but the last ferry was at 19:00. Then the ferry company changed the time of the last boat to 18:30 and Bangkok Airways followed by changing the time of PG307 to 17:15. So they probably haven’t got round to updating flight timetables for next high season.

Ferries aren’t running to fixed timetables at the moment. They depart about every 30 minutes or more frequently if it is busy. So be at the ferry pier around 2 and a half or 3 hours before your flight and you will get to the airport in time for it.

From the pier to the nearest border, at Hat Lek, is around 1 hour 45 minutes.
If you are going to Siem Reap, then it’s around 3 and a half hours drive to Aranyapratet border crossing.

Is the ferry from koh Chang very busy this week, we are leaving the island on thursday and the bus operator told us to to expect really long waiting time?

Hi, we want to go to Trat Airport from Koh Kood via Koh Chang by bang boa wooden Boat. Is it possible to cross Koh Chang by shared Minibus to the Ferry Pier and then to Trat Airport?
The Bangbao Boat wooden boat arrives at Bangbao around 16:00. So you probably won’t have time to get to Trat Airport for flight PG308.
It will be too late for the shared minibus. So you would need a private transfer and then have to hope that the 16:45 ferry departs late. (As it will be about 50 minutes drive from Bangbao to Ao Sapporot pier) If it is on time the next boat is at 18:00 – and you would miss your flight.
A better idea is to take the Boonsiri Ferry from Koh Kood to Laem Sok and then a pick up truck taxi to Trat Airport or the Boonsiri ferry shuttle service. Then you wont have any problem getting to the airport on time.

I am reading that Koh Chang will experience monsoon rains from November 21 – November 24. I have a Boonsiri van + ferry booked for Nov 24. Does anyone know if Boonsiri cancels the whole route if weather is bad or just the ferry portion? And how likely do they cancel?
Ferries still run if it rains. The rainy season is pretty much over. Just the occasional thunderstorm and heavy downpour.
(Ferries occasionally stop operating due to extremely bad weather but I can only remember that happening once or twice in the past few years and for a few hours at a time.)
Are there buses from the pier to Bangkok? If yes – at what time and what is the price? Can we book tickets in advance (for the next day) and can we get a contact to the operator to ask all the questions?

There is one bus from Ao Thammachat pier on the mainland to Ekkamai bus station, Bangkok. This leaves at around 14:30. Tickets cant be booked in advance. Or if you are staying on Koh Chang you can buy a ticket for a shared minibus to Bangkok at your hotel or any tour agent.

You should be able to get from the border to the ferry pier in under 2 hours by taxi. So you’ll be able to get the last boat at 7pm.

During the day ferries often don’t stick to the schedule, but the last ferry will leave on time. If you miss the last boat there is a small bungalow resort about 1km from the pier – Lom Talay Resort.
From 1 December onwards the last boat will be at 18:30.

Nothing has been announced et regarding changing the time of the last ferry back to 19:00. If it remains at 18:30 then you may or may not be able to get to Koh Chang the same evening. No-one can guarantee that it will be possible.

Ferries are running as normal.
There has been some heavy rain but the sea between the mainland and Koh Chang is sheltered from storms, which come from the southwest. So bad weather rarely affects the ferries in a serious way.

If you are travelling as a foot passenger then you can arrive 15 minutes before the boat leaves and you will be able to get on it. You can buy as many tickets as you need for your group.
If you are driving any delays will depend on which day you are travelling and whether you are going from the mainland to Koh Chang or from Koh Chang to the mainland.

It’s not possible to book ferry tickets in advance. Foot passengers always get on the next boat. But if you think you’ll arrive at the pier after 18:30, stay the night in Trat town.
The last boat to Koh Mak is around 16:00 from Krom Luang pier, Laem Ngop. The last boat to Koh Kood is at 14:20 from Laem Sok pier.

There aren’t any restrictions on people entering Trat province.
The only restrictions are for people checking into hotels & coming from one of the ‘dark red’ provinces. They have to show a negative covid test or proof of vaccination.
So you won’t have any problems if you come to Koh Chang from Koh Pha Ngan. But your hotel might ask for some proof that you have been living there. For example, you could show a 90 day report at Immigration or photo of rental contact etc
Now that the area is a blue zone do you still need vax and or 72 hr PCR. Is there a check point?
There are often, but not always, checks at the mainland ferry piers.
Passengers have to show proof of vaccination or a negative PCR covid test issued within the previous 72 hours or negative, doctor certified, ATK test issued within the previous 48 hours.
We are planning to drive there around 19th,20th July. Wanted to know if we can rely on your current time table or any changes should you provide contact number so that we keep checking please . Thank you.
The time table might change depending on how busy it is or the weather conditions. There’s no way to know for sure in advance.

A car is 120 Baht one way. An adult passenger is 80 Baht one way. So the total would be 520 Baht for a car and five adults.

2) Any change in the schedule of ferry, is it still once every hour on all the days and what is the time of the first ferry and the last ferry.
3) The pictures show cars parked almost next to each other, Is there a risk of cars banging into each other while the ferry is in motion. I am asking this because some people often leave their car in neutral gear without a parking brake.

3) People put the handbrake on when they park on a boat. Over the past 15+ years I’ve only seen a couple of cases where a vehicle has moved and hit another whilst on the ferry.

I just updated the timetable. It was changed a couple of days ago, there are hourly sailings now.
In reality, if it is busy the ferries will just fill up and go. You won’t have to wait long for a boat, as motorbikes & scooters will go on the next departure. They don’t have to wait in a queue unlike cars.
The motorbike price will be 80 Baht.

Songkran is the busiest time of year on Koh Chang. On 10 April you should plan to get to the pier as early as possible. Many people will leave Bangkok in the middle of the night to be at the ferry early morning. You don’t have to leave that early. But you should try to get to the pier before lunchtime to avoid the longest queues. going back the ferries will be busiest mid morning to mid afternoon. So plan to leave early, before 08:00 or late, after 16:00.

Buy tickets at the pier. They can’t be booked in advance or online.
If they’re secure parking for the car so you have to wait for your turn I think safe to be kept in the car or should everything be removed from the car thank you for your reply
There’s secure overnight parking, for people who don’t want to take their car on the ferry. It’s sensible not to leave anything valuable in it.
But virtually everyone who drives to the pier will take their car on to Koh Chang.

You drive the car onto the ferry yourself. No-one will else will drive or park your car.

Most people wait in their cars. I’ve never seen anyone take stuff out of their car whilst waiting for the ferry. There’s no reason to do that.
Are both piers that go to KoChang You wait your turn and you stay in the car
Yes. But, if you want, you can go and get a coffee or stretch your legs while you wait for the boat.

Hi, We have a Toyota Yaris small 4 door sedan. The tyres are smaller ones, with the very front of the car having a spoiler, leaving not much clearance from the ground. How is the drive on access on the ramp? I am concerned about bottoming out on the front of the car. Cheers. Regards Mark
It will be OK. It’s only really a problem at extremely high or low tides. (A few times a year)
Small cars, low riding sports cars and vehicles with skirts etc drive on and off at an angle so they don’t get scratched under the car.

Your hotel will probably ask for your passport when you check in, so you will need a copy if you don’t have the original.

You could buy tickets earlier in the day. But there’s no reason to do that. If you’re a foot passenger, you will get on the next boat anyway. If you are driving you’ll have to queue with everyone else. You can’t jump the queue.
Can I take my 15 seater van to Koh Chang?
No problem. You can bring a car, van, 18 wheel truck etc on the ferry.
If you want to take your car to Koh Chang do you need to book in advance?
Tickets can’t be booked in advance. You just join the queue and wait for the next boat.

If you want to go with the last ferry at 7 pm from ko Chang to Bangkok, are you sure to get on or is it possible the Ferry is full and you will have to wait until next day? We will be leaving for Sweden the next morning so we have to be sure to get on the ferry.
If you arrive at the pier early then you won’t have any problems taking the boat. If you arrive late and the boat is full, you could try Centrepoint ferry, their last boat is at 19:30 and is rarely full.
Rental car insurance obviously does not cover the ferry transportation. They informed to buy

There isn’t anywhere to buy insurance at the pier. It isn’t something that people worry about when they come to Koh Chang. Your car will be safe on the ferry.

If it’s busy, vehicles have to wait for a boat. At New Year and Thai holidays, the waiting time can be 3-4 hours or longer.

If you leave Suvarnabhumi before 14:00 in a car, you won’t have any problems catching the ferry to Koh Chang.

There’s secure parking near the ticket office. But why not bring your car on the ferry to Koh Chang? Then you can get around the island easily

It is under 40 minutes drive from Trat to Ao Thammachat. So leave your hotel before 05:45 and you should get to the pier in time for the first boat.

The last ferry always waits for passengers coming from Trat Airport. Even if the flight is delayed a special fery is provided. So you wont have any problems getting here the same evening.

Hi Melanie. Tickets for the ferries to Koh Chang can’t be booked in advance. Buy one when you reach the pier. ( Foot passengers never have to wait for a boat, unlike those in vehicles which often do at busy times.)

There are a lot of different companies running bus & minibus services from Bangkok to Koh Chang. I don’t know their prices. All 4 wheel vehicles pay the same price for the ferry.
Passengers are priced separately, so a car with two people costs the same as a minibus with 2 people, but a lot less than a minibus with 10 people.

The ferry timetable for Centrepoint pier is on this site. Boats from the main ferry pier do not run to a fixed timetable. They’re around every 45 minutes from 06:40 onwards.
There isn’t a best way to get to Bangkok. It depends on your budget and style of travelling.
You could take a minibus from your hotel on Koh Chang to a hotel in Bangkok city centre if you want an inexpensive door to door service.

There isn’t a fixed timetable, so if you’re at the pier around 9.15am, you’ll be able to get to the mainland in time.

It is better to stay the night in Bangkok and next morning come to Koh Chang. You won’t be able to catch the last ferry.
Or take a transfer to a hotel in Trat town or near the pier. And then next morning you can easily come to Koh Chang on your own.

Correct – you cant go direct from Koh Chang to Koh Kood. So you have to take a boat back to the mainland at Laem Ngop and then take a taxi to laem Sok pier, for boats to Koh Kood. It is about 40Km away.
We will be arriving on sunday 4th of feb later than 7pm. From high pier do we have the chance to cross from the mainland over to koh chang after 7pm?

Or you might be able to arrange for someone to take you in a private boat to Koh Chang. That will be around 3,500 Baht.

When you get off the ferry, take one of the white pick up truck taxis that you will see waiting for passengers. It is about 150 – 200 Baht per person to Klong Kloi beach. It will take about an hour.

The ferry companies havent announced any change to services. But as there won’t be many Thais travelling in the afternoon – when the cremation is on TV – there might be fewer boats simply due to lack of demand. But you’ll still get here without any problems.

You would have to take a private boat. That would be around 3,500 Baht. You would need to arrange it in advance. Then a driver to pick you up from the pier on Koh Chang and take you to Santhiya Tree Resort will be around 1,000 Baht.

next month we will take a taxi from Siem Reap to Cambodia/Thai Border and then a taxi to the ferry. Which pier should we choose? I think we will arrive at arround 11am/12 noon.
The taxi driver will drop us off at the ferry so we have to take again a taxi at Koh Chang to the hotel. Which ferry would you recommend? It is not a problem to find a shuttle from Koh Chang – Hotel or?

Ideally go to Ao Thammachat – for Ferry Koh Chang as they have more frequent sailings and faster crossing time.
When you get to Koh Chang take one of the shared pick up truck taxis that you will see waiting for passengers. They’ll drop you off at your hotel.
Where is better/ cheaper to rent a bike for 3 days? In Trat and go with it by Ferry to Ko Chang or directly on the Ko Chang close to the pier if there are any possibility to rent ? How much does it cost ? After 3 days on Jo Chang we go to Pattaya. Where we can take a bus ? Trat, pier or Ko Chang? What are the prices and time schedule?

you can rent a scooter at both ferry piers on Koh Chang. Buy tickets for a minibus from Koh Chang to Pattaya when you are on the island from any tour agent. Or you can take a minibus from Ao Thammachat ferry pier on the mainland. I dont know the timetable. Check before you take the ferry to Koh Chang
Is there a way to reach Ko Chang after 19:00… I’m arriving with a private car around 20:00 on Tuesday February 7th?
It’s sometimes possible to find people in Laem Ngop who’ll bring you to the island at night. You’ll have to leave your car on the mainland. I think about 3,000 Baht for the boat. Then you’ll need someone to pick you up when you reach Koh Chang. As there won’t be any taxis at the piers.
Much easier to stay in Trat & next morning come to the island.

I want to go to Ko Chang on Thursday from bangkok. But I am not sure yet what time I can leave. Maybe at 13.15 from the Bus Terminal in Ekkamai with a public bus. Can I still get the last ferry then? I am not sure how long it takes to get to the port. Does the last ferry leave at 7pm?

Assuming there aren’t any delays, you should still be able to get to Centrepoint pier in time for the last boat at 19:30. The bus will go to Trat, form there take a pick up truck taxi to the pier.

It depends on where you are staying on Koh Chang and which ferry your driver will use. But if you leave around 16:00 then you should be at the airport for 22:00 – 22:30

Take the minibus that is run by Bangkok Airways for their passengers. You will get dropped off at your hotel. Buy tickets when you land in Trat – or it is cheaper to book online.
I fly from Don Meung Airport at 6pm, what time should i leave Koh Chang to catch that flight?
Take one of the morning minibuses to Suvarnabhumi Airport. They pick up from hotels on Koh Chang around 08:00 – 09:00. You’ll get there around 3-3.30pm. Then take the free shuttle bus from Suvarnabhumi to Don Meuang Airport.
Or if that’s cutting it too close, take the Suvarnabhumi Burupha minibus at around 06:15 – 06:30 from Koh Chang to Suvarnabhumi.
Buy tickets from pretty much any tour agent on the island.

The only way you’d get here the same day is take a taxi or private transfer. There aren’t any buses or minibuses from Don Meuang Airport to Trat or Koh Chang.
In your answer to Lena which you gave on April 27, 2015 at 1:13 am you discussed the mini buses from Bangkok International Suvarnabhumi airport which you stated actually will take you all the way to the hotels on Koh Chang. I have two questions. First, is one of the hotels the “Sea View Resort and Spa?” And second, do I need an advance reservation for the mini bus or will there be enough buses so that I can just go over to Entrance 8 of the First Floor of the airport and take a bus to my hotel whenever I show up- probably in the mid morning? The minibuses now drop people off at a makeshift bus station in the north of Koh Chang. From there passengers take a pick up truck taxi to their hotels. This might be a permanent arrangement or might be temporary – no-one knows at the moment.
Minibus tickets can’t be booked in advance. If it’s busy extra buses will be provided. If it isnt then there will be just one minibus and if that’s full, you have to wait for the next one. Currently there’s a big bus at 07:50 and minibuses at 11:00 and 14:00.

If you drive quickly you’ll be able to catch the last ferry at 19:30 from Centrepoint.
I don’t think the ferry companies are going to run a special boat for you unless you pay a lot of money. You’ll have to contact them.

The minibuses seat 9 people maximum plus luggage. But if it’s busy more than one minibus is used.

The last minibus from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Koh Chang is at 14:00. So you wont get to Koh Chang the same day if you are landing at 14:30 unless you fly on Bangkok Airways flight PG307 to Trat.

We are currently scheduled to arrive Saturday, January 23 but may arrive too late for the 7pm ferry. I read somewhere that there are ferries on Fridays and Saturdays at 9pm. Is that true?
Only if it’s very busy. And they will be from Centrepoint pier. But cant guarantee it. The last ferry from Centrepoint is usually 19:30

There are minibuses form the airport to hotels on koh Chang. That’s the easiest way to get here and you’ll be dropped off at your hotel. Go to Entrance 8 on the First Floor of the airport terminal. There you’ll see the Suvarnabhumi Burupha minibus counter. Ticket price is 600 Baht including ferry ticket. First minibus is at 0750, last is at 14:00.
